Cat In The Hat

In this animated series, which is based on characters from Dr Seuss’s classic books, the Cat in the Hat (voiced by Martin Short) takes two six-year-old best friends Sally and Nick on a host of crazy adventures to all corners of the globe. I wrote the theme and all the songs and incidental music for the show, which has proved hugely popular around the world. I also had great fun writing the score and songs for a one-hour special, The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About Christmas!
In 2011, the theme tune (which I sang in an American accent!) was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Best Original Song. The song was also the winner of the award for Best Song for a TV Series at the Cynopsis Kids Awards.
The Christmas Song posted here was expertly sung by Martin Short for The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About Christmas.
