A Gert Lush Christmas

This one-hour comedy drama was the hugely popular Russell Howard’s first foray into acting (as well as co-writing). Produced by Avalon with the Al Campbell directing and Mark Iddon producing, it was broadcast on Boxing Day 2015 on BBC2.

Dan Colman (Howard) returns home for Christmas with Lisa (Hannah Britland) to his embarrassing family (including Neil Morrissey) and awkwardness, trauma and hilarity ensue! Early on during the edit, I wrote a song for one scene of the show, the theme of which was then woven through the score and became the emotional heart of the film. We brought in the fantastic Emily Denton to sing the song, which is available on Spotify. Emily is a rare talent and we are planning to collaborate on more projects in the very near future.
