Stopping The Steal

Stopping The Steal is another gripping film I have had the pleasure to score for HBO. Directed by the brilliant Dan Reed, this documentary shows the pressure that senior (Republican) officials were under from Donald Trump and his team to overturn the result of the 2020 US Election in the months leading up to Jan 6th. It’s an excellent and pretty forensic look at the various ways and means by which the ex-President tried to hold onto the reins of power… and of course it’s never been more relevant.

The film is available to watch in the US on HBO. Slightly confusingly it is also available on Channel 4 in the UK, but in two parts shown over two nights under a different and rather less snappy title, Trump’s Heist: The President Who Wouldn’t Lose. It’s well worth a watch, whatever it’s called!

Thanks to Dan, editor Will Grayburn and the team at Amos, and also to the excellent musicians who played on the score, Flora Curzon (Violin), Nick Holland (Cello), Meredith Moore (Horn) and Ryan Jacob (Trumpet).
