The White Princess

It was a great pleasure to work with the amazing John Lunn (Downton Abbey, The Last Kingdom) on this adaptation of the Philippa Gregory historical novel, The White Princess. The star-studded cast included Jodie Comer, Essie Davis and Michelle Fairley among others.

John had earlier worked on the The White Queen, the score of which was nominated for an Emmy in 2014. Although the cast was entirely new, the series in many ways felt like a follow-up to the earlier series so it made sense to use a lot of the existing themes from The White Queen. However, as the story went on and more new characters were introduced, we developed new themes and the score went off in its own direction.

Alastair King orchestrated the series and we recorded a large string section and harp at Angel Studios.
